Visit St Patrick's Catherdral one of Dublin's earliest Christian sites and the early mediaval Christchurch Cathedral (Dublin's oldest building) is well worth a visit.
Other sites to see include the cobbled streets of Temple Bar, Phoenix Park, the National Gallery of Ireland and the treasures of the National Museaum of Ireland which contains Europe's finest collection of pre-historic gold artefacts.
You won't be stuck for a good pub in Dublin. Some cosy bars have been turned into trendy bars to up their profits but there are still authentic Dublin pubs to be found. Temple bar although full of trendy pubs and clubs still has a few unpretentious bars, though many Dubliners would not be seen dead there put off by stag parties and tourists.
Alternative nights out include going to a concert or visiting one of the many popular comedy clubs.
An excellent time to visit is between April and October when the weather is at it's best. The climate throughout Ireland and especially Dublin is mild with high rainfall and few extremes from season to season.
The maximum temperature in July and August is 20 degrees celcius. January and February are the coldest months when temperatures can drop to 4-8 degrees celcius.
Dublin city breaks are recommended for singles and couples.
